Who We Are
The Thetford Center Community Trust is a non-profit based in Thetford, Vermont.
We’re focused on community. Our goal: To revive The Village Store so our neighbors in this beautiful town have a welcoming space to gather.
Why the Village Store Matters
Thetford Center is a historic village with the bones to be a vibrant townhub. A vital crossroads. Thetford’s center.
The Village Store & Café is the key to jumpstart the revitalization of this beautiful village center.
A thriving store will bring traffic to the village, opening opportunities for the adjacent buildings and the Thetford Center Green.
An expanded Store & Cafe will give local residents an always-on place to gather – something the town has been missing.
Our Vision
In 2028, Thetford will have a new Village Store & Cafe faithful to the spirit of the original building.
The store will have packaged goods, farm-fresh food, and prepared meals for takeout. The cafe will be a space to grab a bite with friends or have a cup of coffee or beer.
The store and cafe will be affordable & accessible for all.
The Village Store & Cafe will have indoor seating and outdoor porches overlooking the green and Timothy Frost Church.
It will catalyze the use, rejuvenation, and sustainability of neighboring gathering spaces at Town Hall, the Frost Building, the TCCA building, the Thetford Center Green & Community Garden.
It will serve as a waystation for bikers, hikers, and snowmobilers enjoying Thetford’s center.
